Congressman Brandon Gill has criticized the DIGNIDAD Act in a series of posts on his social media account, describing it as both a mass migration and amnesty bill, while urging for greater transparency from its supporters.

On April 9, 2026, Gill wrote, “The DIGNIDAD Act isn’t just an amnesty bill. It’s a mass migration bill – and a terrible betrayal of the voters who put us here.”

Continuing his criticism early the next day, Gill addressed what he sees as misleading rhetoric surrounding current immigration policy. On April 10, 2026, he posted, “This is the kind of Orwellian doublespeak we expect from the Left, not our own party. The reality is that under the current system, illegal aliens ARE being deported. We are not living under an amnesty regime, and it’s dishonest to say we are. Our only objective right now”.

Later on April 10, Gill further challenged proponents of the DIGNIDAD Act to clarify their position. He wrote, “If your bill were so popular, you’d be straightforward about what it does. The DIGNIDAD Act provides mass amnesty to over 10 million illegal aliens. I’ll be clear about what I want: mass deportations. Will you be equally straightforward and admit DIGNIDAD is an amnesty bill?”

Brandon Gill was elected to Congress in 2024 after defeating Ernest Lineberger III with 62.1% of the vote compared to Lineberger’s 35.7%.
