Congressman Roger Williams, Chairman of the House Committee on Small Business, announced on Apr. 13 that Sean Dillon will serve as the new Staff Director for the committee during the 119th Congress.
The appointment is significant because the Staff Director plays a key role in shaping legislative priorities and supporting small businesses across the country.
Williams said, “Sean brings a deep understanding of economic policy and years of experience both on Capitol Hill and at the Treasury Department. His proven leadership and strong grasp of the issues affecting small businesses make him well-suited to serve as Staff Director of the Committee. I’m proud to welcome him back to my team and confident he will play a critical role in advancing our America First agenda to support Main Street.”
Dillon most recently served as Deputy Chief of Staff in Representative Huizenga’s office. He previously worked at the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Financial Research as Senior Advisor to the Director, where he acted as Principal Liaison for Congress and led representation on the Financial Stability Oversight Council. Before his time at Treasury, Dillon spent 15 years working in various legislative roles on Capitol Hill with a focus on financial services issues. He has prior experience working for Congresswoman Ann Wagner and Chairman Williams, including serving as Legislative Director from 2013 to 2017.
As Dillon steps into this new position, observers will watch how his background influences upcoming committee initiatives aimed at supporting small businesses.
