John McQueeney, a Republican member of the Texas State House representing District 97, has recently shared updates on his legislative work and community involvement through a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).

On February 22, 2026, McQueeney described attending a longstanding Texas tradition in Laredo: “Katie and I made a quick trip to Laredo today for one of Texas’ oldest traditions, Washington’s Birthday Celebration. It was an honor to be there as Senator @tedcruz was recognized as Mr. South Texas 2026 — an award honoring leadership and service to our great state.”

Two days later, on February 23, he highlighted recognition from a conservative group: “Proud to be recognized as a 2025–2026 Courageous Conservative by Texas Conservative Coalition for my voting record. We’ve delivered real results for safer communities, lower taxes, and securing the border. And I’m not slowing down! “

On February 25, McQueeney encouraged constituents in Tarrant County to participate in early voting: “We’ve passed strong conservative laws and brought real results home to House District 97. Now it’s time to keep building on that momentum. Only a few days left of early voting. Let’s get out and vote, Tarrant County! Find your polling location along with wait times here:”

McQueeney was elected in 2025 to represent Texas’ 97th House district after succeeding Craig Goldman.
