Rep. Roger Williams, a U.S. Congressman from Texas, shared updates on local infrastructure and national energy policy through a series of posts on his official social media account in early August 2025.
On August 4, Williams reported on his visit to the Granbury Regional Airport, stating, “Today, I visited the Granbury Regional Airport where I met with local leadership and builders to receive an update on an important project that will enhance aviation safety and support growth.”
The following day, he commented on recent legislative developments regarding energy policy. On August 5, Williams wrote, “The #BigBeautifulBill passed by @HouseGOP and signed into law by @POTUS unleashes American energy production to drive down the cost of living and restore energy dominance. “ Later that day, he expanded on the bill’s implications for manufacturers: “The #BigBeautifulBill, passed by @HouseGOP and signed into law by @POTUS, eliminates the costly penalties of CAFE standards, empowering manufacturers to innovate and grow. We must cater to Main Street and let the market, not Washington, decide what powers America’s future.”
Williams has served as a member of Congress for over a decade. He secured re-election multiple times since first winning office in 2012 against Elaine M. Henderson with 58.4% of the vote compared to Henderson’s 37.4%. Subsequent victories include defeating Marco Montoya in 2014 (60.2% to 36.2%), Kathi Thomas in 2016 (58.3% to 37.7%), Julie Oliver in both 2018 (53.5% to 44.8%) and 2020 (55.9% to 42.1%), and Chad Hagg in 2024 with a significant margin—99.4% to 0.6%.
