5% of Tarrant County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Tarrant County recorded an unemployment rate of 5% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 55,692 people out of the 2,091,953 living in Tarrant County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Tarrant County has remained fairly stable compared to the 5% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Tarrant County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.3%.

Of the 1,049,626 people who had a job during that time, 2,685 were employed in the Armed Forces and 1,046,941 belonged to the civilian labor force.
