Today, Congressman Roger Williams (TX-25) joined forces with Rep. Andrew Clyde and over 86 Republican colleagues to introduce a Congressional Review Act (CRA) resolution. This resolution disapproves of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ (ATF) final rule that redefines what constitutes a firearms dealer.

Congressman Williams expressed his opposition to this new rule, stating, “Biden and his woke agencies are using every avenue possible to destroy the Second Amendment. This is yet another unconstitutional attempt by the Biden Administration to keep firearms out of the hands of law-abiding citizens as criminals like Hunter Biden continue to lie, cheat, and steal to obtain a firearm. I will never stop fighting to ensure our right to bear arms is protected.”

This move comes in response to an announcement made on April 11, 2024, by President Biden and the ATF. They unveiled the “Engaged in Business” final rule which would redefine who is considered to be in the business of firearms dealing.

Congressman Roger Williams currently serves as the Chairman of the House Small Business Committee and is also a member of the House Financial Services Committee. He represents the 25th Congressional District of Texas.
