The City of Fort Worth is offering a summer program for children aged 5 to 12 at its community centers. Camp Fort Worth aims to provide a range of activities and experiences that complement educational growth outside the traditional classroom.
"Focus on literacy: Each camper will participate in research-based reading curriculum with 45 minutes of intentional and measurable instruction based on best practices provided by a trained literacy support specialist," states the city regarding one of the camp's educational benefits.
Registration for the camp is now open, requiring a community center membership for enrollment. The city offers various discounts and scholarships to facilitate participation. To further encourage community participation, residents aged 17 and under can receive free annual membership at all city community centers.
Additionally, Fort Worth residents can benefit from a "Molly Deal," which offers one week of camp free. However, the entire eight-week fee must be paid by May 31 to avail of this offer. The city emphasizes the availability of financial assistance through discounts and scholarships.
