On April 8, 2025, the Fort Worth Mobile Tool Shed program made its debut in the Worth Heights neighborhood, surpassing expectations. This initiative by the Fort Worth Code Compliance team provides residents with free access to a variety of tools to help maintain their properties.

Crystal Mitchell, who owns a property in the city, expressed enthusiasm about the program. "It’s so good, nutritionally," said Mitchell. She provides a safe haven for people recovering from difficult situations and assists them in gardening initiatives using tools from the Mobile Tool Shed. "To be able to grow your own garden vegetables — it’s amazing," she continued.

The program allows residents to borrow equipment such as lawnmowers, string trimmers, and blowers for free. The aim is to help homeowners keep their properties tidy without needing to purchase tools they require only temporarily. Mitchell shared her thoughts on this, stating, "The loaner program is just great because a lot of times, you don’t need to purchase the tool — you just need it for a short time. It’s helping the community as a whole."

The City of Fort Worth is promoting this free service in selected neighborhoods and encourages residents to make use of the program.
