BIRDVILLE INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT: Five BISD Destination Imagination Teams Qualify for State

Birdville Independent School District issued the following announcement.

The Mid-Cities Destination Imagination Regional Tournament was held at Richland High School on Saturday, Feb. 15. The event was a huge success with five BISD teams qualifying to advance to the state tournament, which will be held at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) on Saturday, April 4.

Birdville High School: The “Blue Blazer Irregulars” came in first place in the Improvisational Challenge. 

Team Members: Asher and Keegan Pierce

Team Manager: Katie Pierce

North Ridge Middle School: The “Where’s Marissa” team came in first place in the Improvisational Challenge. 

Team Members: Ella Pursley, Brooke Hampton, Marissa Carrasco, Brianna Gilpin and Abby Railsback

Team Manager: Nicole Pursley

North Ridge Middle School: The “Second Group of Chosen Ones Who Try Not to Lose” team came in first place in the Scientific Challenge. 

Team Members: Rhythm Chand, Leah Cytron Walker, Adrian Shiyun Lopez, Kaylee Fulton, Benjamin Sohn, Sophia Crump and Ryan Pang

Team Manager: Angelique Sohn 

Co-Team Manager: Adena Cytron-Walker

Porter Elementary: The “NonCents” team came in first place in the Improvisational Challenge.

Team Members: Rory Gaven, Ellie Courtney, Liza Goodwin, Selah Mathew, Alexa Elmore, Nora Foster and Harper Dorasami

Team Manager: Margaret Hutto

Co-Team Manager: Heather Gaven

North Ridge Elementary: The “Puppies” came in second place in the Engineering Challenge.

Team Members: Wyatt Naylor, Lucas Wentworth and Benji Harvey
