Each year, Emsi releases the Talent Attraction Index, which measures the ability of counties and localities to attract talent to their region.

This year, Denton County has ranked in the top 10 in the U.S. The report shows that professionals are moving into the area from larger metro areas into Denton County. Other counties in Texas performed well also, largely because of large companies moving into the area.

“With our abundance of higher education institutions coupled with a growing diversity of job opportunities, Denton County is well-positioned to continue attracting a strong talent pool for years to come," Denton County Director of Economic Development Michael Talley said. "A strong talent pool is one of the best economic tools we can offer prospective employers.”

Talley said the influx of availability of jobs combined with the affordable living were two strong factors in the attraction of professionals to the area.
