Most city offices, including City Hall, will not be operational on January 1st due to the New Year’s Day holiday. However, emergency services will continue as usual.

For solid waste collections, there will be no pickups for garbage, recycling, yard waste, or bulk items on Wednesday, January 1st. Residents with a regular pickup scheduled for Wednesday will have their service moved to Thursday; Thursday's service shifts to Friday; and Friday's service moves to Saturday. Bulk collections are set to resume on Thursday. Collections on Monday and Tuesday will follow the normal schedule. All services are expected to return to their standard operations by Monday, January 6th.

Residents can place two extra bags of garbage next to their brown cart during their first pickup after New Year’s Day. These additional bags will be collected by a separate truck and may be picked up at different times than the carts. There is no need to report missed collections if extra bags are not picked up simultaneously with the carts.

The city's four Drop-Off Stations and the Environmental Collection Center will close on January 1st but reopen on January 2nd.

Animal Care & Control facilities such as the North Animal Campus and Silcox Animal Care & Adoption Center will maintain regular hours on New Year’s Eve but close on January 1st before resuming normal operations on January 2nd. The Hulen and Alliance PetSmart Adoption Centers remain open both days.

All Fort Worth Public Library locations are closed on January 1st.

Community centers shut down at 6 p.m. on December 31st; however, Haws Athletic Center and Sycamore Community Center close earlier at noon that day. On January 1st, all community centers including Haws Athletic Center, FW@6 programs, and Log Cabin Village remain closed. Municipal golf courses close at 3 p.m. December 31st but open again on New Year's Day. The Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge is also open that day while McLeland Tennis Center closes at 1:30 p.m., December 31st before reopening at 10 a.m., January 1st.

Water utility customers can access an automated system for payments or account inquiries or report emergencies by calling the available hotline at any time via the number: "817-392-4477."

Trinity Metro transit services operate under a modified schedule during this period.

The upcoming meetings of the Fort Worth City Council are scheduled for Tuesday, January 14th with a work session beginning at "1 p.m." in Room "2020" of Old City Hall located at "200 Texas St.", followed by a council meeting taking place in the Council Chamber starting from "6 p.m."
