Rep. Williams Leads Bill To Construct Hershel "Woody" Williams National Medal Of Honor Monument In Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Roger Williams (TX-25), joined Congressman Blake Moore (UT-1) and Congressman Marc Veasey (TX-33) in leading the introduction of the Hershel “Woody” Williams National Medal of Honor Monument Location Act which will cite the monument’s location near the Lincoln Memorial on the Reserve.

“This is an important and final step towards honoring our most decorated veterans with the construction of the Hershel “Woody” Williams National Medal of Honor Monument in D.C.,” said Congressman Roger Williams. “I am proud to represent the National Medal of Honor Museum located in my district in Arlington, Texas. The museum and this monument are long due representations of our gratitude for those who served our country with unparalleled bravery, courage, and integrity during moments of extreme danger and sacrifice.The Medal of Honor recipients, who have represented the highest ideals of America since its inception over 160 years ago, deserve no less."

“Today is another landmark day for this historic project which is truly uniting America,” said National Medal of Honor Museum Foundation President and CEO Chris Cassidy. “We are so grateful to Congressman Williams for joining Reps. Moore and Veasey in leading this completely bipartisan effort to recognize America’s greatest heroes and in doing so, reminding us we ALL have the potential to be extraordinary.”
