WASHINGTON, D.C. - On August 18, Congressman Roger Williams (TX-25) introduced a resolution expressing support for the designation of the month of July each year as “American Patriotism Month”.
“Each year on the Fourth of July, our nation comes together to celebrate Independence Day and commemorate the United States Declaration of Independence. I am proud to lead the effort to dedicate the entire month of July to honor American Patriotism and provide an opportunity for citizens to reflect on the principles and values that have shaped our nation. Throughout history, all Americans have made great sacrifices to build this country that we are blessed to call home, where our God-given rights are protected, and we are provided the liberties to forge our own path. My resolution designating the month of July as “American Patriotism Month” would serve as a reminder of the sacrifices made by generations past and present to secure our freedom and democracy while inspiring future generations to celebrate patriotic pride and honor our love for this country,” said Congressman Williams.
“We must find ways to elevate patriotism and unite people. Designating July as American Patriotism Month is a good start,” said Rep. Monica De La Cruz (TX-15).
