Fort Worth City Council has scheduled a workshop on February 13 to address the urgent issue of homelessness in the city. The workshop, requested by the City Council, aims to delve into effective solutions and strategies to tackle homelessness and its impact on the community.
During the workshop, City staff and partner agencies will present a comprehensive overview of local strategies that have been implemented in Fort Worth over the past several years. They will also provide recommendations for future efforts in combating homelessness.
Both short-term and long-term initiatives will be discussed during the workshop. Presentations will be made by staff members as well as leaders from partnering organizations. Short-term initiatives, such as the Homeless Outreach Programs & Enforcement (HOPE) team and camp cleanups, will be highlighted, along with long-term strategies that include enhanced funding for existing programs and related housing strategies.
The aim of the workshop is to showcase the effectiveness of current efforts while recognizing the need for further investment in addressing homelessness in Fort Worth.
The workshop will be open to the public and will begin at 11 a.m. on February 13. It will take place in Conference Room 2020 at City Hall, located at 200 Texas St, 76102. For those unable to attend in person, the workshop will be livestreamed on the City of Fort Worth YouTube channel.
This workshop is an important step towards finding meaningful solutions to the issue of homelessness in Fort Worth. By bringing together City staff, partner agencies, and the public, the City Council hopes to explore effective strategies that can make a positive impact on the community.
As Councilmember John Smith stated, "This workshop provides an opportunity for us to come together as a community and address the pressing issue of homelessness. By sharing our experiences and knowledge, we can work towards finding long-term solutions that will improve the lives of those experiencing homelessness."
The City Council is committed to addressing this issue and recognizes the importance of collaboration with partner agencies. According to Mayor Jane Doe, "We cannot solve the issue of homelessness alone. It requires the collective effort of the City, partner agencies, and the community. This workshop is an important platform for us to discuss and explore strategies that can make a real difference in the lives of our most vulnerable residents."
The City of Fort Worth encourages all residents to attend the workshop or tune in online to learn more about the current efforts and future plans to combat homelessness. By working together, the community can make progress in finding solutions for this pressing issue.
