Fort Worth, TX - March 27, 2024 - The annual Trashion Fashion Show crowned its winners this year, showcasing the creativity and innovation of participants who turned trash into high fashion.
Councilmember Elizabeth Beck was recognized for her role as the event's emcee, overseeing a night of eco-conscious glamour. Keep Fort Worth Beautiful, the organization behind the event, emphasized the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling to combat waste in the city.
Participants from across Fort Worth rose to the challenge of designing outfits made of at least 50% trash or recyclable items, highlighting the potential of upcycling in the fashion industry. The runway show, held as part of the Earth Party festivities honoring volunteers of the Cowtown Great American Cleanup, featured 21 unique designs crafted from materials such as aluminum cans, cereal boxes, and old tents.
