Approximately 70 senior citizens recently embraced the spirit of camaraderie and festivity as they adorned their best western attire for the annual Senior Legacy Ball at Highland Hills Community Center. The event, which brought together guests from various community centers, featured a delightful evening of live entertainment, dancing, guest speakers, vendor booths, prizes, and a catered dinner.

"The purpose of the Senior Legacy Ball is to honor and celebrate our seniors, especially those who are participants of our Best Years Clubs across several community centers," stated Eric Lopez, district superintendent in the City’s Park & Recreation Department.

In its second year, the Ball took on a new theme, transitioning from last year's black-and-white dress code to this year's western style. Reflecting on the evening, Lopez expressed, “The seniors had a blast dancing, interacting with each other, and breaking bread together. Seniors, staff, and partners all enjoyed it. They played their role by dressing for the occasion and were honored, as they deserve to be.”

The event was a true celebration of the seniors' contributions and a testament to the community's commitment to recognizing and valuing their presence. Attendees reveled in the festivities, showcasing their enthusiasm and appreciation for the occasion.

As the night came to a close, the joy and sense of togetherness felt throughout the event left a lasting impression on all those in attendance. The second annual Senior Legacy Ball not only provided a platform for seniors to enjoy a memorable evening but also served as a meaningful gesture of respect and admiration for their continued involvement and importance within the community.
