Thirty-five candidates have registered to run for City Council in the upcoming municipal election on May 3. This election will see all City Council seats contested.

The general elections for Fort Worth's City Council occur every odd-numbered year in May. The state law designates the first Saturday of May as the uniform election date, making this year's election fall on Saturday, May 3.

While 35 candidates are participating this year, it is not a record number for a municipal election. In 2021, there were 58 candidates on the ballot.
