The City of Fort Worth is actively working with the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) and other regional partners to develop an Air Quality Improvement Plan for the Dallas-Fort Worth area (DFW AQIP). This plan is being funded by the EPA's Climate Pollution Reduction Grant (CPRG), and aims to address air quality challenges in the region.
Residents of North Texas are encouraged to participate in the development of the DFW AQIP by sharing their ideas and feedback. There are two ways to get involved:
1. Take the survey: Community members and advocates can provide their feedback through an online survey. This is an opportunity to share ideas and suggestions for projects and strategies that should be considered as part of the DFW AQIP.
2. Attend an open house: The NCTCOG and the City of Fort Worth are hosting open houses across the Metroplex, where residents can offer their feedback in person. One of these open houses will be held in Fort Worth on January 18th. The meeting will include a presentation on the planning effort and air quality challenges in the DFW region. Attendees will have the chance to share their ideas with City and NCTCOG staff, as well as take the input survey.
The Fort Worth Open House will take place from 6-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 18th, at the Hazel Harvey Peace Center for Neighborhoods. This is an important opportunity for residents to have their voices heard and contribute to the development of the DFW AQIP.
The North Central Texas Council of Governments is a regional planning agency that brings individuals and local governments together to address various issues across North Texas. Written feedback for the DFW AQIP can also be mailed to Savana Nance, Senior Air Quality Planner, at 616 Six Flags Drive, Arlington, TX 76011.
Improving regional air quality is a collective effort that requires input from the community. By participating in the survey or attending the open house, residents can play a crucial role in shaping the DFW AQIP and making a positive impact on the air we breathe.
