Texas voters are gearing up to participate in the party primaries on Tuesday, March 5. The upcoming elections will see a significant turnout as voters cast their ballots for both Democratic and Republican candidates.

Among the key highlights of the primaries are the absence of U.S. Reps. Kay Granger and Michael Burgess, leading to two open Fort Worth-area U.S. congressional seats. Additionally, Tarrant County will witness crucial races for positions such as tax assessor-collector and two seats on the County Commissioners Court.

The ballot will also feature contests for U.S. Senator and the State House of Representatives. In the event that no candidate secures more than half of the vote, the top two contenders will proceed to a runoff scheduled for May 28.

Tarrant County registered voters will have the convenience of voting at any Vote Center location on Election Day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., ensuring accessibility and flexibility in the voting process.

Furthermore, Trinity Metro is stepping up to support voter turnout by offering free rides on all local services during the Primary Election. This initiative allows customers traveling to or from the polls to avail themselves of complimentary rides on various transportation options, including buses, on-demand rideshare services, and rail stations in Tarrant County.

To benefit from this service, individuals simply need to inform their driver or train conductor that they are heading to or from a voting location, making it easier for voters to actively participate in the electoral process.
