Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne from the 24th District of Texas hosted an Elementary School Fly-In in Washington, D.C. where 51 elementary school students and their parents experienced a personalized and up-close look at Congress, the White House, and the nation's capital.

The event included guided tours of various significant locations such as the Capitol building, White House, Library of Congress, National Archives, National Museum of American History, and the Smithsonian Zoo. Additionally, the participants engaged in activities like media training with a prominent Washington, D.C. reporter, a demonstration by Capitol Police K9 and Tactical Vehicles, embassy tours organized through the Department of State, and visits to landmarks like the Washington Monument, National Air and Space Museum, Kennedy Center, and Washington National Cathedral.

Congresswoman Van Duyne expressed her excitement about the event, stating, "We are thrilled to have so many students and parents joining us for this unique, first-hand experience here in Washington, D.C. and hope it is an inspirational visit as they learn more about the rich history and governance of our wonderful nation." She emphasized the importance of engaging with students from North Texas and providing them with opportunities to explore and learn about the nation's capital.

Participating elementary schools included Bradfield Elementary, Bransford Elementary, Carroll Elementary, Colleyville Montessori, Cora Spencer Elementary School, Dover Elementary, Forest Ridge Elementary School, Glenhope Elementary, Heritage Elementary, Independence Elementary School, Johnson Elementary, Lone Star Elementary, O.C. Taylor Elementary, Stult Road Elementary, The Saint Timothy School, Texas Virtual Academy Hallsville, W.A. Martin Elementary, Wallace Elementary, Walnut Grove Elementary, White Rock Elementary, and Yale Elementary.

The Elementary School Fly-In organized by Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne aimed to provide an enriching and educational experience for students and parents, fostering a deeper understanding of the nation's history and governance.
