The Fort Worth Police Department will celebrate the opening of its new South Division police station with a grand opening and dedication ceremony from 10 a.m. to noon on Monday, July 29. The facility is located at 3501 W. Risinger Road.
Following a ribbon-cutting ceremony, guided tours of the building will be available. Overflow parking is provided at the Vivian J. Lincoln Library, located at 8829 McCart Ave.
The new facility replaces two outdated stations previously situated at 3128 W. Bolt St. and 7650 McCart Ave. The $20 million project was funded through the 2018 Bond Program with additional support from the Crime Control & Prevention District.
The design of the building includes a welcoming entry plaza and lobby, a community room, roll call room, and office space.
Monday’s event will also feature the dedication of Gordon Huether’s artwork titled "Vision." The piece aims to evoke ideas of clarity, transparency, awareness, and reflection—qualities deemed essential for effective police enforcement today. The mirrored-finished stainless steel sphere represents the entire Fort Worth community and those who serve it.
