Fort Worth Animal Care & Control is set to host its inaugural puppy yoga class of the spring on March 22. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to noon at Handley Meadowbrook Community Center, located at 6201 Beaty St.

The session offers participants a chance to engage in yoga surrounded by puppies. This initiative not only provides exercise for attendees but also aids the puppies in developing social skills, increasing their chances of adoption.

Participants have the opportunity to adopt any of the puppies after the session if they wish. During the class, puppies will roam freely, and attendees are encouraged to handle them gently and allow them space.

Research from Johns Hopkins Medicine suggests that interacting with animals can reduce stress levels and lower blood pressure, potentially leaving participants feeling calm and refreshed.

Puppy yoga welcomes individuals of all ages; however, children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. The fee for participation is $5 per person, with proceeds supporting summer camp programs that offer children experiences with animals in a supportive setting.
