Valuation: Pricing for the median home in Tarrant County decreased during second half of 2024

The median sale price of a home sold in the second half of 2024 in Tarrant County fell by $1,818, while total sales increased by 42.3%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through December of 2024, 14,789 homes were sold in the county, with a median sale price of $161,048. This is a 1.1% decrease from the $162,866 median sale price during the same period in 2023, when there were 10,393 homes sold.

The U.S. housing market has surged in recent years, with its total value approaching $50 trillion in 2024—nearly five times its value in 2000.

“The value of America’s housing market will likely cross the $50 trillion threshold in the next 12 months as there are not enough homes being listed to push prices down,” said Redfin Economics Research Lead Chen Zhao.
