Here are a few ways you can enjoy your weekend in The American Dream City. 

Big 12 Baseball Championship

The Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Championship is coming to Globe Life Field May 24-28, 2023. Globe Life Field is excited to host an epic championship where some of the most prestigious college baseball programs in the nation will battle it out for the title of Big 12 Baseball Champion. Day Trip – Lavender Ridge Gainesville 

Originally a strawberry and melon farm in the 1920’s and 30’s, Ridge Farms is now a lavender, cut-flower and herb farm just 8 miles east of Gainesville, Texas and just a little over 1 hour from the DFW metroplex. The Day Trip departs from the Dottie Lynn Recreation Center 9 a.m. Friday, May 26, 2023. The farm currently has 2 acres of lavender and a seasonal field of zinnias, bachelor buttons, sunflowers, iris, and vegetables for picking in season. Our group will enjoy a private guided tour with their staff horticulturist including the iris field, lavender field, butterfly garden, & other animals. After the tours we will enjoy a homemade lunch in the Lavender Café. Lunch and dessert choices include turkey pesto wraps, rosemary green beans, lavender honey chicken salad, lavender brownie sundae, lemon lavender gooey butter cake, lavender lemonade, and more. Click here to join the waitlist.

Levitt Pavilion Summer Concert Series 

Levitt Pavilion Arlington’s Summer Concert Series continues 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2023, with Hankins Band opening for Micky & The Motorcars, then 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 27, 2023, with Jenna Clark as the opening artist for William Beckmann and rounding out 7:30 p.m. Sunday, May 28, 2023 with Baraja De Oro opening for Ram Herrera & The Outlaw Band. These concerts are free. Open seating is available on the lawn. Please bring blankets and lawn chairs. You also can bring your own food and coolers with beverages, including alcohol, but no glass containers, please. Parking is free. For directions to the Levitt, please see Directions & Parking.

XKO MMA & Muay Thai

The #1 MMA and Muay Thai Promotion in Texas returns to Texas Live! with doors opening to the CBD Kratom Backyard at 6 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2023. This event features a large group of talented Texas-based fighters -- XKO is the first MMA promotion to feature Muay Thai in a squared cage. XKO's pre-fight party will include an expo-style set up with vendors, fighter’s meet and greet, giveaways and much more. Click here for ticket information. 

Concerts at Arlington Music Hall

The Arlington Music Hall has three events this weekend you can be part of. A Neil Diamond Tribune takes place 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2023. The Best of Motown and More kicks off 2 p.m. Saturday, May 27, 2023. Later that evening at 7:30 p.m. is Dan Sperry – The Anti Conjuror. Click on each event for ticket information. 

Creature Features: Meet Sweetness!

Join in at River Legacy Nature Center 2 p.m. Saturday, May 27, 2023, for an outdoor Creature Features presentation to meet an African Mud Turtle! Learn about their adaptations, behavior, and lifestyle. Blankets and chairs are optional to bring. Bug spray is recommended prior to arrival. Participants will receive a registration confirmation prior to the event. Limited spaces are available. RSVP by clicking here. 

Let’s Get small – A Tiny Art Exhibit

The opening reception for this exhibit is scheduled from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Create Arlington. The show features tiny art pieces that are no larger than 8” in size. Despite their small size, these pieces are incredibly detailed and intricate, showcasing the skill and creativity of the artists who created them. What makes this exhibit so fascinating is the sheer variety of tiny art pieces on display. Visitors can expect to see everything from miniature sculptures and paintings to little installations and mixed-media pieces. Each report offers a glimpse into the artist's creative process and vision. The Let’s Get Small exhibit provides a unique and fascinating look at the world of miniature art and showcases the incredible talent of the artists who create it. The exhibit closes Tuesday, June 20, 2023.

Little Joe y La Familia 

Join in at Texas Live! inside the CBD Kratom Backyard 7 p.m. Sunday, May 28, 2023 with the kickoff of their first En Vivo concert series with the "King of Brown Sound", Little Joe Y La Familia. It’s an evening full of "Tejano" music, mixing traditional Norteno, country, blues, and rock styles. Click here for ticket information.
