Taylor Swift The Eras Collection and more at Arlington Museum
Curated by the Arlington Museum of Art from Swift’s own private collection, Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour Collection is an exploration of Swift as an evolving, boundary-pushing artist. The exhibition will feature original costumes, photographs, videos, and more representing several of her creative periods, or “eras.” Highlights of the exhibition are eight costumes worn by Swift from her record-breaking albums Midnights, folklore, Red (Taylor’s Version) and Fearless (Taylor’s Version). Admission into Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour Collection will grant admission to the Girl in a Country Song, Hometown Harmonies, Toni Martin: Butterfly Kisses exhibitions. Water Play at the East Library and Recreation Center
Beat the heat and join the Arlington Public Library 9:30 a.m. Friday, July 7, 2023, at the East Library and Recreation Zone for some fun outdoor water play for toddlers. This event is for toddlers up to age four.
Little Explorers – Downtown Library
Stop by The Play Room at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library on 10 a.m. Fridays for a morning of play-based learning. This come-and-go program will vary week-to-week as librarians explore art, math, science, engineering, and fine motor skills. Hour of Code for Teens – Downtown Library
Join the Arlington Public Library at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library for an Hour of Code just for teens 1 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2023. Spend an afternoon learning the basics of computer science and coding. You’ll meet in the Explore classroom on the 2nd floor of the library. No previous coding experience necessary. This program is intended for incoming 7th graders through graduating seniors. Registration is required.
Makers on the Go: Metal Stamping –Northeast Branch Library
Join the Arlington Public Library on their adventures around the City of Arlington with Makers on the Go! We will be visiting six Arlington Public Library locations to bring the joy of the Makerspace to all. The latest edition takes place 3 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2023, at the Northeast Branch Library. Splash & Dash Junior Triathlon
Join the Arlington Parks and Recreation’s Department for the First East Splash & Dash Junior Triathlon at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, July 8, 2023, at the East Library and Recreation Center. Athletes will swim laps in our indoor pool before heading outside to bike and run around Bob Cooke Park. Distances will be determined by age. Participants should bring their own bicycle, towel, or any other desired equipment. Price includes event registration, finisher’s medal, and post-race snacks. Click here to register.

Lego Free Play – Ron Wright Lake Arlington Branch Library
Build something tall, wide or anything you can dream of using Lego blocks! Bring your family for an afternoon of fun, imagination, and creativity 2 p.m. Saturday, July 8, 2023, at the Ron Wright Lake Arlington Branch Library. Spaces are limited. First come, first serve. Blocks will need to be returned when finished. This is a come and go program for ages 5-11.
Cross Stitch for Families: Summer Popsicles
Create art using a thread and needle with the delightful technique of cross stitch and make a fun popsicle magnet 3 p.m. Saturday, July 8, 2023, at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library’s Tinker Room. Materials will be provided. This class is limited to the first 12 in attendance and is appropriate for ages 9 to adult. Anyone under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
