Fort Worth History Center unveils a powerful World War II exhibit that showcases the evidence of Nazi atrocities and the testimonies of Holocaust survivors. The exhibit features posters based on photographs taken by U.S. soldiers during the war, providing a glimpse into the horrors they witnessed.

The exhibit, which opens on Saturday, January 27th, at the History Center on 501 E. Bolt St., aims to raise awareness about the events of the Holocaust and the role played by American soldiers in liberating survivors. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum has generously made the American Witnesses images available for reproduction, allowing the History Center to present a compelling visual narrative.

"The exhibit serves as a poignant reminder of the atrocities committed during World War II and the bravery of those who fought against them," said John Davis, the curator of the Fort Worth History Center. "Through the photographs and testimonies, visitors will gain a deeper understanding of the human cost of war and the resilience of the survivors."

The testimonials from Holocaust survivors, who were liberated by American soldiers, provide a personal and emotional connection to the exhibit. Their stories offer a firsthand account of the horrors they endured and the hope they held onto amidst the darkness.

One survivor, Sarah Klein, shared her gratitude for the soldiers who rescued her. "I will forever be grateful to the American soldiers who risked their lives to free us from the clutches of the Nazis," she said. "Their bravery and compassion saved countless lives."

The Fort Worth History Center encourages the community to attend the opening of the exhibit to pay tribute to the victims of the Holocaust and honor the sacrifices made by the soldiers who fought for freedom. The exhibition serves as a reminder of the importance of remembering history to prevent such atrocities from happening again.

As the Fort Worth History Center unveils this powerful World War II exhibit, it is an opportunity for the community to reflect on the past, learn from it, and ensure that the lessons of the Holocaust are never forgotten.
