Frank Kent Dream Park, the beloved inclusive playground nestled within Trinity Park, will undergo comprehensive repairs and upgrades throughout the entire month of April. This temporary closure aims to enhance the park’s facilities and ensure a better experience for visitors.

"The scheduled maintenance includes essential repairs, new surfacing and turf enhancements, all of which are vital for maintaining Dream Park’s quality standards. Additionally, some of these repairs necessitate specific temperature conditions, with an optimal range of 40-90 degrees Fahrenheit, limiting the timeframe for implementation," shared Karen Stuhmer, Park & Recreation Department spokesperson.

A portion of Trinity Park, which encompasses Dream Park, is scheduled to be closed for multiple weeks as part of the preparations for Mayfest. In an effort to minimize the overall disruption to visitors, park staff have strategically chosen to coincide the closure with the festival setup period. This decision not only streamlines the closure process but also maximizes the utilization of favorable weather conditions for the required improvements.

"By conducting these repairs and upgrades now, we ensure the park remains a vibrant and safe community play space for years to come," added Stuhmer.

Dream Park will be open for Mayfest and then reopen to the public on May 9. During the closure, visitors are encouraged to explore alternative parks and recreational areas nearby, such as Trinity Park playground, Tillery Park in Forest Park, and Rockwood Park, among others.
