Fort Worth staff is nearing the completion of a recommended Fiscal Year 2025 budget, which will be presented to the City Council in early August. A proposed property tax rate will also be introduced at that time.

Property tax revenue remains the primary funding source for the General Fund, which finances essential services such as police and fire operations, employee salaries, public works, and community services.

The FWLab team has been working with estimates to optimize taxpayer dollars. While city services are expected to remain unchanged, expanding or adding certain operations in the FY25 General Fund budget could potentially lead to deficits.

City budget staff will continue to explore different revenue scenarios while focusing on council priorities and goals. Key areas of focus include economic development, community investment, community safety, infrastructure, and responsible growth.

Fort Worth's formal budget process began in March this year.
