Nothing beats a home-cooked meal during the holidays, but the fats, oils, and grease (FOGs) from these meals can pose a problem if they end up in household drains. When poured down the drain, FOGs can accumulate and harden in pipes, leading to blockages, pipe bursts, and even home flooding.

To address this issue, the City of Fort Worth is participating in the 2024 Holiday Grease Roundup campaign. This initiative is sponsored by the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG). Residents are encouraged to bring their FOGs to designated disposal sites through Friday, January 10.

By recycling FOGs with the City of Fort Worth, residents help divert a valuable resource from landfills and convert it into an alternative fuel. This effort also helps protect household plumbing systems as well as wastewater infrastructure and the environment.

The City has made it convenient for residents by accepting FOGs at all four drop-off stations and at the Environmental Collection Center.
