Labor Day closures announced for city offices and services

Most city offices, including City Hall, will be closed Monday, Sept. 2, for the Labor Day holiday. Emergency services will be available as usual.

Solid waste pickup: Residential garbage, recycling, yard waste and bulk collections will operate on a normal schedule on Labor Day. Residents should place collection carts on the curb no later than 7 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 2. The City’s four Drop-Off Stations and the Environmental Collection Center will be closed Sept. 2. Libraries: All Fort Worth libraries will be closed Sept. 2; they will reopen at their normal times Sept. 3.

Recreational amenities: Most community centers, the Haws Athletic Center, late-night programs and the Log Cabin Village will be closed Sept. 2. Chisholm Trail, Diamond Hill and Victory Forest community centers will be open. These amenities will be open: golf courses, McLeland Tennis Center, Fort Worth Botanic Garden, Fort Worth Water Gardens, Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge, Marine Park Pool and Forest Park Pool.

Animal care and control: The Fort Worth Animal Shelter’s Chuck & Brenda Silcox Animal Care & Adoption Center and North Animal Campus will be closed Sept. 2. However, the two PetSmart Adoption Centers at Hulen and Alliance will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Field services will be available on Sept. 2 with limited staffing and longer response times. Water utility: To access the Water Department’s automated system for payments and account inquiries or to report an emergency, call the 24-hour call center at 817-392-4477.

Public transit: Trinity Metro will be operating modified services for Labor Day. Trinity Metro buses and ACCESS paratransit services will operate on Sunday schedules. Trinity Metro TEXRail will operate on its regular schedule. Trinity Metro On-Demand services, with the exception of Trinity Metro On-Demand Mansfield, will operate on regular schedules; the Mansfield service will not operate on the holiday. Trinity Railway Express (TRE), TRE LINK and CentrePort Circulator will not operate. Customer Care representatives can be reached at 817-215-8600 from 5 a.m to 5 p.m.; however, the Customer Care Kiosk will be closed.

City Council: The next meetings are scheduled for Sept. 10.
