Fort Worth residents who qualify based on income can access free tax filing assistance for their 2024 taxes at Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) centers. This service is available to individuals or households with an annual income of $67,000 or less and is provided by the United Way of Tarrant County in collaboration with the City’s Neighborhood Services Department.
VITA services are offered at select Fort Worth libraries and community centers, including Greenbriar, Northside, and Worth Heights. The services began on January 27.
Qualified users can schedule appointments with VITA volunteers for assistance. Additionally, VITA representatives can help with enrollment in financial education and coaching programs or assist in developing workforce skills.
For more information on locations, hours of operation, or to become a VITA volunteer, residents are encouraged to visit the VITA webpage.
