Fort Worth Municipal Court is organizing a Court in the Community/Warrant Forgiveness event on Saturday, Sept. 14, from 9 a.m. to noon at Compass Church North Fort Worth, located at 12512 N.W. Hwy. 287 in Haslet.

The event is aimed at individuals with outstanding citations from the Fort Worth Municipal Court. Attendees can resolve their cases without fear of arrest and may be eligible for alternatives such as community service or reduced fines based on their ability to pay.

Up to 120 people will be served on a first-come, first-served basis for Class C criminal cases, which include traffic violations, ordinance violations, and penal code violations.

Court Director William Rumuly stated, “I encourage anyone who has an outstanding citation with the Fort Worth Municipal Court to contact us immediately so we can provide options to move those cases to a final resolution.” He emphasized that the court operates as a Safe Harbor Court: “We do not arrest persons who come voluntarily to see us on their outstanding cases.”

When asked if this initiative is only for Fort Worth citations, Rumuly confirmed: "Yes, for any Class C criminal case filed with the Court such as traffic violations, ordinance violations and penal code violations through the issuance of a citation."

Explaining Safe Harbor further, he noted that residents can visit any Fort Worth Municipal Court location without fear of arrest for warrants issued by the court.

For more information about this initiative or other court-related inquiries, individuals are encouraged to call 817-392-6700 during business hours or visit the court's website.

Attendees have an opportunity to meet with municipal court staff on September 14th to address their outstanding cases.
