With autumn approaching, residents are reminded of the proper ways to dispose of yard trimmings and brush. Here are five convenient methods:
1. Bag it: Paper yard bags, available at grocery, hardware, and garden stores, can be used for leaves, grass clippings, and other small trimmings.
2. Bundle it: Shrub and tree trimmings can be bundled using string or twine. Each bundle should not exceed four feet in length or 40 pounds in weight.
3. Stack it: Tree and shrub limbs that are less than eight feet long and four inches in diameter can be stacked at the curb on the weekly pickup day. Piles should not exceed 10 cubic yards.
4. Cart it: Residents can use a 96-gallon green yard cart available for a one-time fee of $75, charged on their water bill. There is no additional monthly charge for the cart. For more information, call the City’s customer service center at 817-392-1234.
5. Drop it off: Brush can also be taken to one of the City’s four drop-off stations.
