The Fort Worth City Council has approved additional funding to replace three fire stations under the 2022 Bond Program. The decision, made on October 15, reflects the city's dedication to improving emergency services infrastructure, a critical component for community safety and development.

This initiative is part of a broader strategy aimed at enhancing fire services across various districts, ensuring preparedness and swift response capabilities. The increased funding addresses rising construction costs.

The total project budget allocates $14,113,534 for Fire Station 16, $12,389,032 for Fire Station 26, and $12,942,672 for Fire Station 37. These figures represent substantial investments in public safety infrastructure. Each station's funding includes increases from the General Capital Projects Fund.

Construction contracts for all three stations were put out for bid in 2023.

Fire officials, city dignitaries, and community members recently gathered to commence construction on Fire Station 16.
