Fort Worth Municipal Court is set to commemorate Municipal Court Week from November 4 to November 8 at the A.D. Marshall Public Safety and Courts Building, located at 1000 Throckmorton Street. The theme for this year is "United and Strong."
Chief Judge Simón González emphasized the significance of municipal courts, stating, “Municipal Court is essential to a free and just society. Our court will serve over 200,000 people in any given year, which is more than all of the other courts in Tarrant County combined. Municipal Courts Week is an excellent opportunity for everyone to learn more about the judicial system as a whole and our court in particular.”
The opening ceremony for Municipal Courts Week will take place on Tuesday, November 5 at 8:30 a.m. in the first-floor lobby of the A.D. Marshall Public Safety and Courts Building. Judges and court staff are expected to deliver remarks during this event.
In addition to learning opportunities about the judicial system, residents can also sign up for a Fort Worth Public Library card at convenient times during the celebration. Sign-up sessions are scheduled for Tuesday, November 5 at both 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
To further engage with the community and support local businesses, food trucks will be stationed daily along 10th Street across from Old City Hall at 200 Texas Street. Lunch service runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., featuring different vendors each day:
