Fort Worth Animal Care & Control (FWACC) is appealing to the community for assistance in fostering animals as the North Animal Campus deals with a confirmed case of Canine Distemper Virus (CDV). To safeguard animal health, FWACC has halted new intakes at all shelter locations temporarily.

Emergency intakes are being redirected to the Silcox Adoption Center, which is already at capacity. This situation underscores the urgent need for additional space. Community members are encouraged to foster animals to provide temporary homes and alleviate overcrowding.

Volunteer opportunities at the North Animal Campus are suspended until further notice.

Residents can contribute by fostering pets, even on a short-term basis. Those interested in helping Fort Worth’s animals should reach out via email.
