Live Christmas trees can be disposed of easily in Fort Worth following the holiday season. As part of the normal weekly yard waste pickup, residents can simply place their trees curbside on their designated collection day. However, there are a few guidelines to keep in mind to ensure a smooth and efficient disposal process.

Firstly, it is important to note that the trees must be less than eight feet long. If a tree exceeds this length, it should be cut into two pieces for proper disposal. Additionally, before placing the tree on the curb, all decorations, lights, and tree stands must be removed. It is also worth mentioning that trees should not be placed in plastic bags.

The good news is that flocked trees are accepted for disposal. However, artificial trees should be disposed of in the brown garbage cart instead. For those who prefer a more hands-on approach, there is an alternative option available. Fort Worth residents can take their trees to any of the City's four drop-off stations.

It is important to remember that when taking the tree to a drop-off station, all lights, decorations, and tree stands must be removed. This is to ensure that the trees can be turned into mulch for beneficial reuse. If trees with decorations are taken to the drop-off stations, they cannot be mulched and will be placed in the trash instead.

By following these simple guidelines, residents can easily and responsibly dispose of their Christmas trees in Fort Worth. So, as you bid farewell to the holiday season and welcome the new year, make sure to properly dispose of your live trees. Remember, a clean and green city starts with each resident's contribution.

In the words of the city officials, "Disposing of live Christmas trees is easy in Fort Worth. Just place them curbside on your weekly collection day."
