As Fort Worth welcomes the new year, two significant events are set to bring the community together. The 40th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Parade and the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo will take place this month, providing opportunities for celebration and reflection.
The parade is scheduled for Monday, January 20, in downtown Fort Worth. It will celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., marking its 40th annual occurrence with a promise to inspire and unite the community.
This year's parade will feature professional golfer Gladys Lee as grand marshal. Attendees can expect an array of floats, cars, bands, and performances by local ROTC groups.
Running from January 17 to February 8, the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo is another major event on the city's calendar. Established in 1896, it blends Western heritage with modern entertainment.
These events highlight Fort Worth's spirit and diversity, offering residents and visitors alike a chance to honor civil rights history while celebrating Western traditions.
