Sprocket Networks, a Texas-based provider of high-speed fiber optic internet services, has signed a long-term contract with the City of Fort Worth. The collaboration aims to build and operate a fiber broadband network that will serve the city's municipal sites and provide high-speed internet access to areas where infrastructure investments have lagged behind growing needs.

The project, known as Fort Worth Fiber, will offer customers lightning-fast fiber speeds, symmetrical upload and download rates, and comprehensive whole-home Wi-Fi coverage. The project will involve installing over 300 miles of fiber optic cable throughout Fort Worth, establishing a backbone network for Sprocket to extend broadband connectivity to city government sites, businesses, and residents. Construction is set to commence in 2024.
