City Manager Jay Chapa has announced the appointment of Dianna Giordano as the newest assistant city manager for the City of Fort Worth. This announcement took place during the City Council work session on Tuesday.
"We conducted an internal recruitment for this coveted position and found Dianna to have the expertise and experience needed to lead effectively as the City continues to grow," Chapa said. "I am excited to welcome her to the City Manager’s Office and look forward to her continued work in this new role."
Giordano has been serving as the director of Human Resources and Civil Service since June 2021. With over 25 years of HR leadership experience, she brings a wealth of knowledge in policy development and strategic solutions. Her career spans positions at both city and county levels, and she has worked with municipally owned utilities.
Her professional background includes working with a range of employees, from line workers to senior executives. Her areas of expertise include employee relations, performance management, workforce development, talent acquisition, and HR systems implementation.
“It’s been a privilege to work for the City of Fort Worth,” Giordano expressed. “I’ve been excited to be here since the first day I walked in. I look forward to serving in this new capacity and continuing to support the City, its residents, and employees."
In her new capacity, Giordano will oversee Human Resources, Information Technology Solutions, Intergovernmental Relations, and CMO Administration. She will officially start her role on Monday, April 7. An interim HR director will be appointed later on.
Giordano replaces Interim Assistant City Manager Richard Zavala, who retired on March 28 after over three decades as the director of Park & Recreation.
