The City of Fort Worth has announced an upcoming Citywide Vision Zero Open House as part of its efforts to eliminate crashes that result in fatalities or serious injuries. Included in the Moving a Million (M1M) Master Transportation Plan, Vision Zero aims to reshape transportation in the city across various modes, including walking, biking, driving, flying, and transit.
"The City of Fort Worth’s goal to completely eliminate crashes resulting in someone being killed or seriously injured" is the central aim of the Vision Zero initiative. Residents are invited to participate in discussions about the nearly completed Vision Zero Safety Action Plan and offer input on improving road safety. The project team will present key elements of the plan at two open houses scheduled for next week, available both in person and virtually.
The M1M Master Transportation Plan is designed to integrate all of Fort Worth’s transportation plans into a cohesive vision. The objective is to create a program aligned with City policies and financial considerations, reflecting the community's requirements and desires.
By 2050, Fort Worth aims for a transportation system that offers safe, reliable, and world-class services. This system will "provide more freedom for all to choose viable transportation options; enhance economic dynamism; connect residents to communities, the region and the world; improve quality of life; is well-funded and maintained; and prioritize equity."
