Westwood Professional Services to Enhance Appearance of Fort Worth Water Sites

Fort Worth City Council has approved a $169,980 agreement with Westwood Professional Services Inc. for the landscape assessment and improvements at various properties owned by the City and managed by the Fort Worth Water Department. The initiative aims to enhance maintenance of City-owned greenspace, as stated by residents who believe they will witness more efforts towards this cause.

The move is in alignment with Mayor Mattie Parker’s Good Natured Greenspace Initiative, where the Water Department seeks to improve the appearance of existing facilities in visible areas without compromising the maintenance or operation of essential infrastructure. The department also plans to utilize the existing land surrounding current facilities for potential future expansions, ensuring a balance between aesthetics and functionality, according to a statement by the Water Department.

Furthermore, the contract with Westwood Professional Services Inc. will facilitate the landscape and beautification of specific properties, allowing the City to advance the Good Natured Fort Worth Greenspace Initiative. This initiative aims to collaborate with public and private partners to enhance greenspace investment in Fort Worth for the next century, as emphasized by a source familiar with the matter.

The landscape assessment and improvements will focus on ten identified facilities, marking the beginning of a new era in enhancing the visual appeal and functionality of Fort Worth water sites. Residents and stakeholders can anticipate a transformation in the appearance of these locations as part of the City's commitment to sustainable development and environmental aesthetics.
