Women’s History Month: Great Women Scavenger Hunt

Spend this week learning all about the amazing women in history and their accomplishments with this awesome scavenger hunt in honor of Women's History Month. This is available all day during open hours at the Ron Wright Lake Arlington Library.

Artist Unknown: Works From Around the World

The College Town Renaissance Center presents Artist Unknown: Works From Around the World, which includes curated items for the Home+Body in the specialty space: Adorned. The exhibition is open Fridays and Saturdays 12-3 p.m. through Saturday, April 27, 2024.

Scream Break 

There's nothing quite like celebrating Spring Break at Six Flags Over Texas! Hang out with your friends or family and hop on to one of your favorite thrill rides. Scream breaks runs until Saturday, March 16, 2024. Click here to learn more. 

Little Explorers – Downtown Library 

Stop by The Play Room at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library on 10 a.m. Fridays for a morning of play-based learning.  This come-and-go program will vary week-to-week as librarians explore art, math, science, engineering, and fine motor skills.  Join the Arlington Public Library as we playfully discover the world around us!  Designed for ages 1-4. Family Storytime – Southeast Branch Library

Join the Arlington Public Library’s fabulous library staff to sing, read and wiggle during storytime at the Southeast Branch Library 10:30 a.m. Fridays. This storytime is geared for ages 2-5. They will read books, sing songs, and have an activity after the program each week. Spring Break: Herb Container Garden 

Learn to plant and grow herbs for your own home container garden 12-3 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2024, at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library Sun Club Garden (outdoor space). This class will cover how to properly mix soil and sow seeds. Learn how to pick plants for companion container planting. This course is appropriate for children ages 9 and up!

K-Pop Party 

Join the library for a K-Pop program just for teens 2-4 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2024, at the Southeast Branch Library’s Community Room. Come dressed as your bias, hang out with other K-Pop fans, and participate in some trivia and arts and crafts.

Shows at Arlington Music Hall

The Arlington Music Hall has shows you can enjoy this weekend. You can experience Mo Pitney with special guest Ryder Grimes 8 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2024, and then 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 16, it’s Moses Snow As Elvis The King Of Rock N Roll! Click on the event for ticket information.  

Havana Salsa & Bachata Night

Join Texas Live! for a Salsa & Bachata class in Rangers Republic hosted by Salsa at the Gardens 9 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2024. Dance the night away with beats by DJ Barney and DJ Salvatore. Free entry and class. 

Pet Adoptions Event

Join Arlington Animal Services mobile adoption truck will be in front of DICK'S Sporting Goods with furry friends to meet 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2024, for the Lucky Dog Adoptions. Stop by to visit with an adoptable pet to get some pet therapy and possibly a forever friend. Cannot make it to the event? 45th Annual St. Patrick's Day Block Party

Get ready to paint the city green at the 45th Annual St. Patrick's Day Block Party 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2024, at J. Gilligan's Bar & Grill. Join for a day packed with Irish spirit and family fun! They will have a fantastic array of kid-friendly activities, including face painting, balloon creations, and a bouncy house that'll have the little ones bouncing with joy! As the sun sets, the party heats up with live music kicking off at 4 p.m., creating the perfect backdrop for an evening of celebration. Indulge in our special St. Patrick's Day treats, including green beer and mouthwatering Irish nachos, while you revel in the lively atmosphere and festive vibes.

Fix a Leak Week Class: DIY Sprinkler Repairs

Finding and fixing leaks can lead to better water conservation and can save homeowners money on their city services bills. Participants in this class will learn about all the parts of a typical home sprinkler system; how to see if your system has uneven coverage; how to adjust heads and maintain your system; and how to check your system for leaks.  This class is presented by the Arlington Water Utilities and takes place 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the George W. Spice Club: Irish Cooking

Learn about Irish Cooking (garlic, thyme, carraway seeds, cloves) 12-1 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the Southeast Branch Library. Learn different ways to spice things up in your kitchen. At Spice Club, you will learn about a different spice every month. Attend to discover a spice and receive a take-and-make kit featuring a variety of unique spices, herbs, or blends. Check out new cookbooks and recipes or bring a favorite recipe of yours to share! 

Each kit will include:

  • Information about the featured spice, its history with a few facts;
  • two simple recipe suggestions;
  • Small packet of the featured spice to try.
Spice of the month kits are free, but supplies are limited. Please, only one kit per household. No registration required.

Shamrocks & Shenanigans

Get rockin' with Texas Live! at Shamrocks & Shenanigans 1-7 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2024, for a beer pong tournament live music, drink specials, St. Patrick's Day food features, performances by various entertainers, and all the green beer! Learn more by clicking here

Teens Give Back

Teens join the Arlington Public Library at the Ron Wright Lake Arlington Branch for a chance to give back to the community! The event takes place 2-4 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2024. Come to make seasonal cards and gifts for seniors who partake in Books on Wheels, the library's outreach service for residents who live in select senior housing facilities. Supplies will be provided.

Laser Cutter: Engraving Drawings

End Spring Break with this fun class learning about the many things you can do with the Glowforge Laser Cutter and how you can add your own handwritten details. The class takes place 3-5 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library’s Tinker Room. The laser cutter cuts, engraves, and scores a variety of materials including wood, acrylic, and leather to create a myriad of projects. Materials will be provided. This class is limited to the first 8 in attendance and is appropriate for ages 9+.

North Texas Soccer Club home opener
