The Fort Worth Municipal Court is set to host a 'Court in the Community/Warrant Forgiveness' event from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 18, at Wedgwood Baptist Church, located at 5522 Whitman Ave. The event is open to anyone with outstanding citations from the Fort Worth Municipal Court. Attendees can appear at a municipal court location or 'Court in the Community' event without fear of arrest for their cases.

The event aims to provide an opportunity for individuals to resolve their outstanding cases and potentially be eligible for alternatives such as community service or a reduction in their fine based on ability to pay. At the event, up to 120 people can be seen on a first-come, first-served basis with a Class C criminal case filed with the court. This includes traffic violations, ordinance violations and penal code violations.

"I encourage anyone who has an outstanding citation with the Fort Worth Municipal Court to contact us immediately so we can provide options to move those cases to a final resolution," said Court Director William Rumuly. "We are a Safe Harbor Court, meaning we do not arrest persons who come voluntarily to see us on their outstanding cases."

It should be noted that this initiative is only applicable for Fort Worth citations and any Class C criminal case filed with the court such as traffic violations, ordinance violations and penal code violations through the issuance of a citation.

Fort Worth is recognized as a Safe Harbor Court, implying that residents can always visit a Fort Worth Municipal Court location without fear of arrest for outstanding warrants issued by the Fort Worth Municipal Court.

For more information about this initiative and other court-related matters, interested parties are encouraged to visit online or call the court during business hours at 817-392-6700.
