The City Council took an important step Tuesday in ensuring the Strategic Priorities and Goals established earlier this year will play a significant role in Fort Worth’s future for decades to come. The Council approved a resolution adopting the identified priorities – economic development, community investment, community safety, infrastructure, and responsible growth – along with the associated goals.

By publicly and officially adopting the resolution, the Council initiated activities aimed at building community trust, investing in neighborhoods, and sustaining existing community and cultural assets.

The resolution directs City departments to align their day-to-day work efforts with these priorities. This coordination ensures that departments work together effectively and focus on what is needed and expected by the community.

The Strategic Priorities and Goals will be prominently featured in the City’s 2050 Comprehensive Plan, which serves as a blueprint for Fort Worth's growth and development. FWLab, the City department responsible for data collection, analysis, and budget planning throughout the year, is currently developing this plan. Staff members are gathering resident input online for its formulation.
