On Tuesday evening, the City Council approved an incentive for the expansion of GE On Wing Support Inc. in Fort Worth. GE On Wing Support is a full-service provider of engine maintenance and repair and is a legal entity of GE Aerospace.

GE On Wing Support has more than 300 employees worldwide spread across eight facilities, with 65 employees already based at the 84,344-square-foot facility in Fort Worth, located near DFW International Airport. The company seeks to expand into an additional 3.25-acre parcel next to their current location, creating a larger single footprint.

“We appreciate the city’s partnership to make this investment possible in the Fort Worth community,” said Jay Hembree, the GE On-Wing Support site leader for DFW. “It will help us build capacity and better serve our customers.”

GE On Wing Support Inc. has committed to a capital investment of $50 million, including $37.5 million in real property improvements by December 2026 and $12.5 million in business personal property by January 2027. The company has also committed to hiring 100 additional full-time jobs by December 2026, for a total of 165 full-time employees at the site. The expected minimum average annual salary for all jobs will be $70,000 or more. Additionally, 15% of construction costs for improvements will go towards business-equity firms.

“It’s exciting to see this GE On Wing Support project move forward because it speaks to the strength of Fort Worth’s existing aerospace sector and its opportunities for future growth,” said Robert Sturns, the City’s director of economic development.

“GE On Wing Support’s expansion is yet another testament to the power of Fort Worth’s robust aerospace and defense industry,” said Robert Allen, CEO of the Fort Worth Economic Development Partnership. “This latest investment, which grows both GE On Wing’s operational footprint and workforce in Fort Worth, is exactly the type of investment the Fort Worth EDP targets as we work to attract high-quality business investment to our rapidly growing region.”

In exchange, the City of Fort Worth will enter into a seven-year tax abatement for up to 60% of the incremental value of both the company’s real and business personal property. The abatement will be subject to company performance on commitments listed above; if commitments are not met, the abatement will be reduced.
