City offices announce closures for Martin Luther King Day

Most city offices, including City Hall, will be closed on January 20 for Martin Luther King Day. Emergency services will continue to operate as usual.

Solid waste collections will proceed without changes. Garbage, recycling, yard waste, and bulk items will be collected as normal. However, the city's four Drop-Off Stations and the Environmental Collection Center will not be open on Monday, January 20. For questions or assistance, residents can call 817-392-1234.

Animal Care & Control facilities such as the North Animal Campus and Silcox Animal Care & Adoption Center will also be closed on January 20. Normal operations are set to resume on Tuesday, January 21. The Hulen and Alliance PetSmart Adoption Centers will maintain their regular hours.

All Fort Worth Public Library locations will be closed on January 20 in observance of the holiday.

Recreational amenities including all community centers, Haws Athletic Center, and Log Cabin Village will not be open on January 20. Municipal golf courses, Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge, and McLeland Tennis Center will remain open.

For water utility services, individuals can access the Water Department’s automated system for payments and account inquiries or report emergencies by calling the 24-hour call center at 817-392-4477.

Trinity Metro's mass transit services will operate on a modified schedule on January 20.
