The deadline to pay 2024 property taxes without incurring penalties and interest is approaching, with payments due by Friday, January 31. Tarrant County Tax Office locations are available to assist taxpayers from Monday to Friday, between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Rick D. Barnes, the Tarrant County Tax Assessor-Collector, advises residents to utilize online payment options early in the month. "We encourage taxpayers to pay online whenever possible to avoid the crowds," he stated. He further cautioned that "online systems become heavily used in the last hour of the day" and suggested avoiding last-minute payments on January 31.

Property tax bills fund assessments made by various entities such as school districts, Tarrant County itself, cities within the county, hospital districts, community college districts, among others.

For assistance with property tax or motor vehicle queries, residents can contact the Tarrant County Tax Office Customer Service Center at 817-884-1100 during business hours. High call volumes may lead to delays; therefore, email inquiries are also an option with a response time of up to 48 hours.

Further information on branch locations is available on the Tarrant County Tax Office website or through their customer service center.
