The City of Fort Worth has appointed Lance Randall as the new deputy director for economic development. Randall brings with him 29 years of experience in various sectors including economic and community development, workforce and housing development, tourism, government relations, and business management.
Randall's expertise spans business recruitment, retention, expansion, site development, infrastructure improvements, tax incentives, new markets tax credits, industrial park development, and small- and minority-business lending. His background also includes working with a Maryland state senator and several mayors in Macon, Georgia.
Previously, Randall served as the director of constituent services for Rep. Sanford D. Bishop Jr., a member of the U.S Congress. He has held roles such as project manager at the Macon Economic Development Commission and vice president of existing industry at the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, he worked with the Seattle Office of Economic Development and Southeast Effective Development and was executive director at the Black Business Association of Oregon.
Randall has been recognized with numerous awards including the Crystal Eagle Award for Excellence in Business Development Leadership from Tabor 100; Existing Industry Appreciation Award for Service to Existing Industry from the Georgia Economic Developers Association; Robert B. Cassell Leadership Award from the American Economic Development Council; and a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition from Congressman Sanford D. Bishop Jr.
He holds a degree in political science from Morgan State University in Baltimore and is an alumnus of the University of Oklahoma Economic Development Institute.
