Fort Worth Animal Care & Control has achieved Gold Medal Status with PetSmart Charities, a significant recognition awarded to shelters that have completed over 1,000 adoptions through PetSmart stores. This milestone places Fort Worth in the top tier of the Adoption Partner program, joining an exclusive group of only 53 shelters nationwide.
"This accomplishment is a testament to the hard work and dedication of Fort Worth’s passionate staff, who strive each day to save lives and connect pets with loving families," said representatives from Fort Worth Animal Care & Control.
The two satellite adoption centers located within PetSmart stores have been instrumental in reaching this achievement. The Hulen location in southwest Fort Worth and the Alliance location in north Fort Worth provide convenient options for residents looking to adopt pets alongside the main shelter locations.
The Hulen adoption center, one of the longest-running PetSmart Adoption Centers, opened its doors in April 2010. Since then, it has facilitated nearly 26,000 animal adoptions. The Alliance center followed a year later in November 2011 and has placed more than 21,000 animals into new homes.
Both centers operate daily during regular store hours and offer an inviting environment for both pets and potential adopters. Staff members ensure that updated amenities are available so that pets have the best chance at finding their new family in a setting focused on comfort and connection.
